CP:

Corporate Plan of a company. The planning span is of 3-5 years.

CQC:

Customer Quality Complaint

CFM (CFT):

Cross Functional – Management or Cross Functional Team. The inter-departmental coordination required to realize the policy goals of a Kaizen and a Total Quality Program. After corporate strategy and planning are determined, top management sets objectives for cross-functional efforts that cut laterally throughout the organization. This is the major organizational tool for realizing TQC improvement goals. An intensive focus on the monitoring to achieve the success of goals and measures is a must.

Company Wide Quality Control by Total Employee Involvement.

Guys Cost Of Poor Quality is the term that has been widely used in the industry. Just take a look of it.

COQ or COPQ:

“Cost of Quality” is also referred as “Cost of Poor Quality”. There are four natural classes of identifiable costs of poor quality and they are those associated with prevention, appraisal (or detection), internal failure, and external failure.

Prevention Costs are those costs associated with activities undertaken to prevent or reduce failures.

Appraisal Costs are those costs associated with the assessment of conformance to requirements (detection of failures).

Internal Failure Costs are those arising within the organization as a result of detected failure before transfer to the customer.

External Failure Costs are those arising within organization as a result of detected failure following transfer to the customer. One may like to tangibles the intangibles such as loosing customer and business value. See more quality terms in Next Article ...

Technical Terms used in Industry - 3

Cellular Layout:

Cellular layout is to do with forming manufacturing cells that produce JIT output. Cells can be formed using Grouop Technology principles. Two or more cells can be connected to produce final product on the basis of tact time.

Check Points And Control Points (CPCP):

Both check points and control points are used in measuring the progress of improvements related activities between different managerial levels. Check points represent process-oriented criteria. Control points represent result oriented criteria. A control point to a manager becomes a Checkpoint to his lower-level manager.

Checkpoints may be monitored with the help of Control charts (such as mini-max visual indicators, statistical control charts, etc.) such that the desired effect is seen on corresponding Control points. Check points and control points are also used in policy deployment. Check points are the strategies (i.e. ‘process’ criteria) and Control points (in terms of targets achieved) act as measure of Check points (in terms of performance of those strategies).
